Speed control system consisting of a brushless motor and an EtherCAT drive for constant-speed applications. Five power ratings from 30 to 400 W cover motor flanges from 60 to 104 mm. Speed can be set between 50 and 4,000 r/min and is held within ±0.2 % from zero to rated torque via the motor's Hall IC feedback; approx. 1.5 times the rated torque is available for short periods. A torque limit function keeps the torque constant when required.
Power Supply & Gearboxes
The drive is powered by single- or three-phase 200–240 V AC (50/60 Hz); an optional 24 V DC control supply keeps the drive status available via the network even when the main power is switched off. 7 programmable inputs, 2 programmable outputs, connections for a holding brake and a regenerative resistor, and monitoring for overload, overvoltage and more are integrated. The motors are available with a straight shaft or a geared shaft for gearbox mounting – with parallel shaft or hollow shaft gearboxes in ratios from 1:5 to 1:200 – and optionally with an electromagnetic holding brake.
EtherCAT Communication
The drive is connected via EtherCAT (100 Mbps, full duplex) with CoE and CiA 402 drive profile; firmware updates are possible via FoE. Velocity Mode, Profile Velocity Mode and IO-Map Command Mode are supported. Free Run, SM Event and DC Sync Event are available for synchronised operation with a cycle time from 250 µs; cable lengths of up to 100 m are possible between nodes.
