Digital input/output system with EtherCAT connectivity for decentralized acquisition of sensor signals and switching of actuators. The modules connect switches, sensors and actuators to the network directly on site, reducing wiring effort in the control cabinet. Depending on the version, input-only, output-only or combined modules with 16 or 32 channels are available in NPN or PNP versions; wiring is via e-CON connectors or a terminal block, and the 32-channel modules are photocoupler-isolated. They mount on a DIN rail.
EtherCAT communication
The connection is via EtherCAT with the CiA 401 I/O profile; synchronization is via Free Run or SM Event. Option A modules additionally support DC SYNC Event, firmware updates via FoE and an adjustable input filter.
